New yellow outfit for Cave Story’s Quote, designed by original developer Daisuke “Pixel” Amaya (click for a larger, less blurry image). Nicalis debuted this bright look with its new Cave Story Twitter account. When a fan asked if the WiiWare remake gives the character unlockable outfits/palette swaps, Nicalis responded, “Maybe ;) .”
I still prefer the game’s original, less detailed sprite shown on the left — and thankfully the remake allows you to play with the original graphics and music — but who knows, maybe someone out there is dying for an option to make Cave Story’s hero dress like Ali G.
